Vinnie Chulk was demoted to today. Chulk has struggled so far this season, posting a 7.36 ERA in 14.2 innings of work in 12 games. Francisco Rosario was called up to take his place. Rosario is 0-2 in 5 starts at Syracuse, with a 4.43 ERA in 22.1 innings. Those numbers don't jump out at you, but his 29 strike outs and only 8 walks do.
I guess if you have an ERA in the 7's you get demoted, and if you have a ERA over 10, you keep your spot.
