Glaus's 2 home runs and 4 RBI's yesterday helping the Jays take 2 of 3 from Oakland with a 8-3 victory. Greg Zaun also added a solo.
Reed Johnson made a spectacular catch in center field, as he was filling in for Vernon Wells who was given the day off. Johnson made out better than Aaron Rowand of the Phillies, who broke his nose crashing into the fence in a rain shortened game yesterday against the Mets. In Wednesday's game, Johnson also had a great diving catch.
So much for my comments made a few weeks ago, that Ted Lilly isn't a capable number 2 starter. Lilly has 4 wins and an ERA of 3.24, both of which are in the top 10 in the American League. He has pitched into the 7th inning in his last 3 starts, and 4 of 7 so far this season. Lilly also leads the team in strikeouts with 32, 9 ahead of Chacin and 10 more than Halladay (1 less start). He has given up 22 walks and 6 home runs though. So far this year, he hasn't had that one bad inning where he gives up four or five runs, which he seemed to do a lot last year. Here's to hoping that he can keep it up, they really need him now if Chacin will be missing time, and with Burnett still out.
