No Demotion to Pen for Towers

So it looks like Josh Towers in going to remain in the starting pitching rotation, according to the Toronto Sun. He got off to a mediocre start last year as well, and came on strong toward the end the season. But the difference in my opinion is that since this Jays team has a shot at contending for the division and wildcard this year, they can't afford to wait out a pitchers slump.

He's 0-6 with a 10.59 ERA in 6 starts. That's horrible. That's not even giving your team a chance to win. Sure this batting order can score a lot a runs, but they are not going to score 12 runs every time he pitches.

Send him to the bullpen to figure things out. Then, if/when he gets it going, insert him back in to the rotation if need be. McGowan or Marcum can take his spot. This would also give management a chance to see what these young guys are made of. I'd rather see a promising rookie struggle than a veteran, and I don't think they would struggle as bad as Towers has.
