Sanchez threw 103 pitches, 67 of those for strikes, walking 4 batters. To throw a no hitter, pitchers definitely need defensive help. There were a couple of nice plays, as well as a couple close plays that helped preserve the no hitter. I would like to see a better angle of the final out, it almost looked like the player was safe, but the camera view that I've seen, starts to move away from the bag.
Dave Stieb is only Blue Jay pitcher to throw a no hitter, which he did against the Cleveland Indians on September 2, 1990. Nolan Ryan was the last pitcher to throw no hitter against the Blue Jays, which he did a year after Steib's. Dave Stewart of the Oakland A's no hit the Jays in 1990. Len Barker of the Indians threw the only perfect game against the Jays in 1981.
