With the trade deadline fast approaching on Monday, rumours are floating around that the Blue Jays are interested in obtaining short stop Julio Lugo from the Tampa Bay Devil Rays. One report from the Tampa Bay Tribune is the Rays are asking for Dustin McGowen, Shaun Marcum or Brandon League. The list submitted to the Rays by the Blue Jays of available players did not include any of the above players, but was headlined by former first round pick David Purcey.

The Toronto Star is reporting the Tampa rejected the Blue Jays offer of David Purcey and said that if the would take more than just Brandon League or newly acquired Jeremy Accardo to get Lugo.
