Triple-A Syracuse SkyChiefs Manager on the Fan

Toronto's sports radio station, the Fan 590, had Triple-A's Syracuse Sky Chiefs manager on the air for a bit this morning. I was only able to catch the last couple minutes of it.

When talking about Russ Adams, he said it will take time for him to adjust, to get use to turning double plays from the opposite side and having runners baring down on him from a different angle. Despite having committed a few errors (4 errors in 5 games), he is still confident in himself. Adam's footwork is getting better and his range is good.

He also touched on some position players who have be playing well of late. Santos's hitting has improved recently, especially since moving into the 2 hole. First baseman, Kevin Barker is having a solid season, hitting .294 with 8 HR and 24 RBI's.

John Ford-Griffin's struggles this season (.214, 4 HR and 12 RBIs) have been the result of an arm injury that was giving him problems swing the bat. He tried playing through it, but they decided that he needs the rest.

Josh Towers has made one start for the team. He lasted 7 innings giving up 11 hits, 2 ER (6 runs), 1 walk and striking out 4. Although Towers gave up 11 hits, his command was good, showed some aggression and had good tempo.
