Daily Hoops Awards for Apr. 22nd 2011

The Wilt Chamberlain Award:
Dwyane Wade --- 32 pts, 10 reb, 8 asst, 12 FTM, 1 stl, 2 blk, 0 treys, and 10-19 FG%...The announcers pointed out that 18 of his 32 points came in the paint. That is a large part of why he's my 2nd favorite basketball player of all time - MJ first. He loves going strong to the hole and he's great at rebound dunk putbacks. He's also a better passer and far more efficient shooter than the current player he's compared most to, Kobe Bryant. Wade has shot better than 49% four times in his career, including a career best 50.0% this season. For his career, he shoots 48.5%. Kobe has never shot better than 46.9% for a season, and shoots 45.4% for his career. Wade's career assists are at 6.3/gm, compared to Kobe's 4.7. And of course, when it comes to shot blocking, he's simply the best shot blocking guard of all time, averaging 1.0/gm for his career...Kobe, at least 2 inches taller, is at .5/gm.

The Alek Radojevic Award
Mike Bibby --- 2 pts, 1 reb, 0 asst, 0 FTM, 0 stl, 1 blk, 1 treys, and 1-5 FG% in 26 minutes...The Heat are tragic at the point guard position - their backup Mario Chalmers was 0-3 with 1 reb, 3 dimes in 17 minutes - but it doesn't matter too much with Wade playing the point for long stretches.
