Tellqvist Sent to the Marlies

Mikael Tellqvist was sent to the Toronto Marlies yesterday for a conditioning stint. J.S. Aubin appears to have one the backup duties for Andrew Raycroft, which became apparent last week when Aubin had his first start of the season. Tellqvist started for the Marlies last night, losing in overtime 5-4.

Former Toronto Maple Leaf, Nathan Perrott signed a tryout contract with the Marlies yesterday.

Peca Day-to-Day

Mike Peca missed Saturday's game against Calgary with a hip flexor problem. It originally occured in the pre-season and is not considered serious but the extra rest is needed. Pece should be able to return to the lineup in time for Wednesday game against the Colorado Avalanche.

Sundin’s 500th

In the Toronto Maple Leafs 5-4 OT victory over Calgary Flames on Saturday, Mats Sundin scored his 15th career overtime goal (which is the most all-time for the regular season). It completed his hat trick and it was the 500th goal of his career. Sundin became the 35th NHLer to score 500 goals. Along with his 500th goal, Sundin also tied Dave Keon for second on the Leafs all-time goal list with 365. Sometime this year, Mats should be able to pass Darryl Sittler for the all-time lead, Sittler scored 389 goals in a Maple Leaf uniform.
