Leafs Contract ‘Steen Disease’

The Leafs were diagnosed with the Tomas Steen Disease after last nights performance, lots of shots, no goals. Kari Lehtonen stopped all 36 shots directed at him, 19 in the third period, as he backstopped the Thrashers to a 5-0 victory. Mats Sundin led the team in shots with 6; followed by Jeff O'Neill and Alex Steen with 5. The Leafs have scored only 2 goals in their last 3 games, despite recording 112 shots.

The Maple Leafs only trailed 1-0 after the second period, but Atlanta exploded for 4 goals in the third. Hossa collected his second goal of the game early in the third. Five minutes later Mellanby made it 3-0, 4 seconds after that, the Leafs trailed 4-0. Raycroft played well, but didn't get much help. He stopped 2 clear cut breakaways, and made this game closer that it should have been.
