What are the Leafs chances of making the playoffs after the trade deadline?

Streak Ends at 5

The Maple Leafs 5 game winning streak came to a halt last night. The Nashville Predators, now the NHL's top team, beat the Leafs 4-2 in a penalty filled game. Failure to capitalize on the power play, and playing undisciplined hockey were the primary reasons the Leafs lost. The Leafs were 0-8 on the power play, while the Predators were 2-11. A 5 on 3 for Nashville in the second period lead to Steve Sullivan's goal putting the Preds up 2-1, Kaberle was called for a questionable hold (his stick was stuck in the boards) and Sundin for punching a player in the head. Sundin should now better, especially after the whistle when you already have a penalty called against your team.

The Leafs were undefeated when Ponikarovsky scores, 10-0-2 before last night, 10-1-2 after the game.

Mats Sundin collected his 500th assist in a Maple Leaf uniform on Ponikarovsky's first period goal.

John Pohl was a late scratch before the game due to back spasms.

Ferguson and Tucker's agent are having 'positive' talks, but nothing is imminent. Tucker's foot will be re-examined today or tomorrow to determine if his cast will come off, and possibly a better time table for his return.
