The Leafs were given today off for some much need R and R, as they don't play again until Thursday. Only Atlanta at 20 games have played more than the Leafs 19 games. They have won 4 games in a row, and 7 of their last 8.

A strange occurance; the Leafs haven't gone to a shootout in the last 7 games. 5 of their first 12 games went to a shootout, where they have a 2-3 record.

Yesterday Maurice put the team through a rigorous 30 minute skate at the end of practice in attempt to keep their conditioning up. Mats Sundin joined them in this skate, and was making and accepting passes, but not shooting. Michael Peca was present at practice after leaving Saturday's game after taking a puck in the face that required stitches. Darcy Tucker, who took a Sheldon Souray slap shot that left a nice mark on his thigh, did not practice. Jeff O'Neill was given the day off to give his body an extra day of rest. Andrew Raycroft did not practice but hopes to be on the ice tomorrow.
