Brayden Schenn Suspended for One Game

Brendan Shanahan, the NHL’s Vice President of Hockey and Business Development and head disciplinarian, suspended Philadelphia Flyers forward Brayden Schenn for one game. Shanahan deemed the hit as “charging,” with Schenn leaving his feet just before making contact with Devils defenseman Anton Volchenkov.

Volchenko wasn’t hurt on the play, and Schenn has not been involved with any supplementary discipline before in his young career.

Chris Johnston of the Canadian Press noted that Schenn will forfeit $4,702.70 in salary for the one game suspension.
