What started as a feud on the golf course has turned into a battle of words between Tiger Woods and Sergio Garcia. Woods and Garcia have a history of not liking each other, and things got worse after Garcia accused Woods of deliberately pulling a club while he was swinging.

However, the two have traded jabs through the media at various events, the latest coming when Woods addressed the notion of calling Garcia to make up with a simple “no” at the press conference for the AT&T National.

At an event in London this week, Garcia made a statement that many are calling racist when talking about Woods:

“Garcia jokingly answered a question at a European Tour players dinner Tuesday night about getting together with Woods at the U.S. Open by saying, “We’ll have him ’round every night. We will serve fried chicken.”

Garcia has since apologized to Woods saying the comments were in poor taste, but it’s clear that feud has taken an unnecessary turn. The relationship between the two golfers has been icy, but after the incident at THE PLAYERS Championship, Woods and Garcia are the newest feud on tour.

Woods responded to those comments from Garcia this afternoon via Twitter:

Woods and Garcia should tee it up next in the same field at the Memorial Tournament in two weeks, but if not, they’ll both be in the field at the U.S. Open which starts on June 13.

Regardless, the small relationship that the two shared is completely gone and it’ll be interesting to see how the two act if they’re paired in the same group together.

Rescue workers have been looking for survivors after a tornado razed an area outside of Oklahoma City, destroying homes and leaving at least 51 people dead. Cleanup crews are currently working through the night in hopes that there are more survivors or victims buried in the rubble.

Durant has been very active in the community and this is another example of how committed the superstar is to the city. While his team was eliminated by the Memphis Grizzles in five games, it was a nice gesture for Durant to support the community in the mist of this devastation.

The Pacers’ turnover problems have not been solved. Well, they’ve been solved by the Heat. They’re taking advantage. Oh you get it.

The Paul Pierce era with the Boston Celtics is quickly coming to an end with the perennial All-Star believing the team will either trade or release him before the start of next season.

Pierce has played his entire career with the Celtics, but has been mentioned in trade rumors over the past two seasons with talk of the team attempting to begin a rebuilding process around All-Star point guard Rajon Rondo.

With the deadline (June 30) to buyout Pierce’s contract for $5 million opposed to paying him $15 million for next season rapidly approaching, the team must make a decision quickly and a trade may be more likely with the Celtics able to get something in return.

The most recent trade rumor involving Pierce has the Celtics potentially making a deal with the New Orleans Pelicans in exchange for Eric Gordon according to Michael McNamara of ESPN’s Bourbon Street Shots via Twitter:

The writing appears to be on the wall in Boston in terms of the team making a move with Pierce. It remains to be seen whether or not they’ll be able to find a suitable trade partner and able to get talented young player or two in return, but the Pelicans may be an option.

It’s been no secret that Gordon isn’t happy in New Orleans after doing everything within his power to sign with the Phoenix Suns before last season and failing to see eye-to-eye with head coach Monty Williams this past season. Gordon likely wouldn’t be a opposed to this move, but Pierce probably wouldn’t be a big fan of the trade going to a team will little chance of being a playoff contender in the Western Conference.

Appearing on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, Jackson talked about his greatest challenge as a coach:

“It’s probably the greatest challenge I had through all my years (in reference to the Kobe-Shaq relationship) because there was always this tension about “it’s my-team, it’s my-team”.

Shaq and Kobe won three consecutive NBA championships, but their feud made it possible for Lakers management to explore options in trading Shaq.

O’Neal was traded to the Heat and wound up winning another ring, while Kobe and Jackson reunited to win two more championships before Jackson’s eventual retirement.

After living in limbo since the Vancouver Canucks were eliminated by the San Jose Sharks, the Canucks  coaching staff learned their fate today and it wasn’t good news for them.

TVA Sports Louis Jean was first to report that according to his sources, head coach Alain Vigneault along with his assistants Rick Bowness and Newell Browne were fired.

Vigneault was hired by the Canucks in 2006, leading them to 313 regular season victories.

While he was at the helm, the Canucks won two Presidents trophies and got the Stanley Cup Final once. The Canucks reached the Final in 2010-11, but lost to the Bruins in seven games.

Despite being the No.1 seed in 2011-12, they lost in the first round in five games to the eventual Stanley Cup Champions Los Angeles Kings.

This past season, they finished as the third seed in the Western Conference, but were swept in the first round by the Sharks.

After an incredible second season with head coach Jim Harbaugh at the helm, the San Francisco 49ers have suffered a major blow in the NFL off-season with wide receiver Michael Crabtree tearing his Achilles tendon according to Mike Garafolo of USA Today:

San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Michael Crabtree suffered a torn Achilles tendon during organized team activities Tuesday and will soon undergo what could be season-ending surgery, a person informed of the injury told USA TODAY Sports.

Crabtree had a breakout season in 2012 with a career-high 85 receptions, 1,105 receiving yards and nine receiving touchdowns. Although still not in the elite class of wide receivers in the NFL, Crabtree paved the way for a promising future under Harbaugh until going down with the season-ending injury before the season even began.

Once the off-season began, the 49ers were very active in their attempts to right the ship after losing to the Baltimore Ravens in the Super Bowl. The first substantial move will actually help shoulder the severe blow of losing Crabtree for the upcoming season.

The 49ers acquired veteran wideout Anquan Boldin from the Ravens in a trade. Boldin’s acquisition will be huge for San Francisco in the wake of the Crabtree injury.

Another option for the 49ers is bringing back veteran Randy Moss. San Francisco decided not to bring Moss back after only one season with the team, but might look in the direction of the five-time All-Pro once again with Crabtree now out of the lineup for at least one season. A lot of uncertainty surrounds wideout Mario Manningham after the veteran suffered a torn ACL last season.

In his first season in the big leagues, Angels outfielder Mike Trout did just about everything. Trout had one of the best seasons in major league baseball history and he didn’t even start the season with the Angels.

Trout hit .326 with 30 home runs, 83 RBI’s, 129 runs scored and swiped 49 bases in just 139 games last season. Coming into this season, rumors swirled that Trout had gained a substantial amount of weight and was due for a slight regression.

However, last night, Trout went 4-5 in the Angels 12-0 victory and hit for the cycle for the first time in his major league career. Trout needed a home run in the eighth inning to complete the cycle and talked about what he was thinking at the plate via ESPN.com:

“At 2-0, I think I was swinging at anything,” Trout said. “It was in the back of my mind, trying to hit a home run. I just barreled it up and it went out. It feels great.”

So far this season, Trout is hitting .293 with 9 home runs and 34 RBI’s as the Angels have struggled mightily for the first part of the season. While the addition of Josh Hamilton over the off-season was supposed to ignite the Angels offense, their pitching is doing much of the damage.

The Angels starting rotation has a 4.79 ERA and the team is 18-27 while finding themselves 10.5 games behind first-place Texas.

However, a video from last night’s game shows that Trout was actually out and not safe on his infield single:

It’s clear that Harang got to the bag before Trout, but was called safe by the umpire. Trout became the youngest player in baseball history since Mel Ott in 1929 to hit for the cycle.

This won’t be Trout’s last cycle in his career as the star outfielder should help the Angels turn things around and make a push toward the playoffs.
