John Smoltz of the Atlanta Braves recorded 3000 stike out on Tuesday April 23rd. Smoltz struck Felipe Lopez of the Washington Nationals in the 3rd inning.

Mike Mussina of the New York Yankees is next on this to reach 3000, but he won't get there this season as he's sitting at 2,692 career K's (as of May 26th, 2008).
