Jake Peavy was the last pitcher to win the MLB triple crown for pitchers after his impressive 2007 season. 6 pitchers since 1997 recorded the triple crown. Not since 1967 has a hitter accomplished the triple crown. Carl Yastrzemski was the last batter to hit for the triple crown, leading the league with 44 HRs, 121 RBI's and a .326 average.

Albert Pujols is making a run at baseball's batting triple crown in 2009. Around All-Star break time, Pujol's was leading the league in home runs and runs batted in, and in the top 3 in average. Only time will tell if he is able to join this impressive club.
