The speed game seemed to disappear in the steroid era, will it return anytime soon? The most stolen bases in a season is another baseball record that could be safe for awhile. Hugh Nicol's MLB record has stood pat for over 120 years. Stolen base machine Ricky Henderson came close in 1982 when he stole 130 bases.

There have been 20 seasons where an MLB baseball player has stolen a 100 bases or more. Ricky Henderson, Billy Hamilton, and Vince Coleman have stolen over a 100 bases in a season 3 times.
