The Thunder seemed like they were trying to work through a sluggish night as they were trying to catch up for nearly the entire game. Dallas led due to the strength of Darren Collison and Chris Kaman playing really well.
But a 10-2 run by Oklahoma City brought them back into the game. Finally, Kevin Durant made a hook shot over Vince Carter to take a 96-95 lead. After Durant made two foul shots, the Mavericks somehow sent the game to overtime with a wacky Darren Collison three.
Russell Westbrook came alive in overtime. After making a jumper, he stole an O.J. Mayo pass and went coast to coast for a lay-up. The Thunder would go on to win the game and break the Mavs’ hearts once again.
Kevin Durant went for a cool 40 points while Serge Ibaka ended up having 19 points and 17 boards. Darren Collison scored 32 points. Not bad for being Derek Fisher’s back-up, eh?
The Clippers led 16-4 and never looked back. There were times where it looked like Boston could get back into the game but the Clippers always looked primed for a huge run and they did several times. Boston was even held down to 10 points in the fourth quarter. The Clippers were so good that the Celtics couldn’t score much in garbage time.
The starters and the bench split the 106 points they scored evenly. Matt Barnes had 21 points to lead all scorers and Jamal Crawford was excellent as usual with 17. It was big for the Clippers to sit their starters down in the fourth as they had a game at Utah for Friday night.
The Clippers have won 15 games in a row and go to 23-6 as they continue to enjoy having the best record in the league.
