NBA Play Of The Day: Paul George Met Rodney Stuckey At The Rim

It’s not often we put a defensive play on the NBA Play of the Day section of SportsCity but this one definitely deserves it.

In the first quarter of Friday’s game between the Indiana Pacers and the Detroit Pistons, Rodney Stuckey received the pass from Jose Calderon and seemed home free for a dunk. But Paul George was running on the other side. As Stuckey went up for the dunk, George came from behind and met him at the rim. He wiped out Stuckey’s dunk with two hands. It was quite an amazing rejection.

You have to appreciate that effort by George. And this was what has made George an All-Star. Not only has he picked it up from the offensive end but his defensive chops is one of the reasons why Pacers have the best defensive team in the league today. He has become one of the perimeter defenders in the league today.

Rodney Stuckey will probably think twice now if George is in the vicinity.
