It was a tough pick for the NBA Play of the Week on SportsCity this week. The play by Kobe Bryant and Earl Clark with 0.4 seconds left in the first half against the Pistons was superb on Super Bowl Sunday.
But we decided to go with the alley-oop between Dwyane Wade and LeBron James. As mentioned before, this isn’t the first time they’ve done this but it is spectactular every time they do it.
Udonis Haslem and Jeremy Lin jumped it up in the Houston frontcourt. Haslem, who is six inches taller than Lin, would, of course, win the tip. The ball bounced to Wade. As you can see in the video, LeBron James took off running to the Heat’s frontcourt as soon as the ball went up. Wade then threw a perfect touchdown pass to LeBron for the oop, echoing images of Joe Montana, Steve Young, or Colin Kaepernick (hey, I’m a bitter Niners fan!). To throw a full court pass like that, though, with accuracy is amazing. Makes me wonder how many times they actually practice this play.
But, yes, the alley-oop of Dwyane Wade and LeBron James gets them the SportsCity NBA Play of the Week.
