Boston Bruins 2 – New York Rangers 1 (Boston leads series 3-0)

One of the Bruins strengths is their depth upfront and it was evident last night.

Their fourth line of Daniel Paille, Gregory Campbell and Shawn Thornton factored in both Bruins goals.

They were working hard, and they’ve scored some big goals for us in the playoffs. I have confidence in that line,” said Coach Claude Julien. “You utilize them because they’re good, not because you have to.”

Rangers Taylor Pyatt gave the Rangers a 1-0 lead early in the second and they went into intermission up by the same score.

Three minutes into the third, Bruins defenseman Johnny Boychuk scored his fourth of the playoffs, with helpers from Paille and Thornton.

Late in the period a shot bounced over Henrik Lundqvist’s shoulder and was appearing to go in, but when the puck hit the ice it bounced the opposite direction. It was like there was backspin on the puck. Unfortunately for the Rangers, the puck was loose and Paille pounced on it, puting it home for the 2-1 lead.

With the goalie pulled, the Rangers weren’t able to beat Tuukka Rask.

Game 4 goes Thursday night, starting at 7:00 pm ET.
