Elliotte Friedman said there have been rumors that the Florida Panthers may be willing to trade Stephen Weiss. Weiss will be an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season. There were rumors that the Senators might be interested due to Jason Spezza’s injury. Panthers GM Dale Tallon said the rumors were “ridiculous.” Glenn Healy also said that Weiss is on the trade market, and other GMs are talking about him. The goaltending situation in Vancouver has played out well for them, and they are in a position of strength. Healy added that Colorado Avalanche are cheating their fans by not signing Ryan O’Reilly, with Kevin Weekes adding, “The Avs are dumb if they don’t sign O’Reilly.” The panel also notes that the Phoenix Coyotes could be in trouble.

DON CHERRY’S COACHES CORNER

Cherry agrees with the Canadiens fan banning the ‘low-five’ celebrations. Cherry has praises for the Lightning rookie Cory Conacher and Red Wings Jordin Tootoo. He points out the gamesmanship that Max Talbot showed Ryan Callahan during their fight where Callahan was injured.
