During the loss to the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday, Tom Brady of the New England Patriots made a questionable move by raising his leg while slide on a play to avoid the tackle from safety Ed Reed. Brady’s slide wasn’t penalized or even questioned much during the game, but it definitely left safety Bernard Pollard with a bad taste in his mouth.
Pollard said the following about Brady’s controversial slide that could’ve injured Reed via Danny Picard of CSNNE.com:
“You’ve got to keep them legs down,” said Pollard. “You’ve go to keep the legs down. We all know and understand what’s going on there. And as a quarterback, when you go to slide, we’re taught . . . we can’t do anything. When you come sliding, and your leg is up in the air trying to kick somebody, that’s bull crap.”
Hard to argue with Pollard’s comments here as Brady’s leg staying up in the air and actually making contact with Reed was unnecessary and may have resulted in Reed suffering an injury.
