Chase Budinger from the Minnesota Timberwolves tore his left meniscus Saturday night in Chicago. He had surgery earlier today and Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports has the report.

It’s bad enough that they have so many people out because of injury but this is a pretty big blow for the Timberwolves. Budinger is an up-and-coming player that was doing well for the Wolves with the absence of many players. For an athletic player like him, we hope that this injury doesn’t affect too much of it and he comes back stronger than ever.
Chase Budinger averages 11.8 points and 3.5 boards so far this season. He was traded from Houston to Minnesota for a 2012 first round pick that turned out to be Terrence Jones. No word on who will take his spot since there are really no small forwards left other than Andrei Kirilenko for the Wolves.
