A woman was allegedly assaulted and early reports have said that an anonymous Brooklyn Nets player happened to be in the vicinity. From NBC Philadelphia:
Philadelphia Police are investigating a possible sexual assault inside a swanky Philadelphia hotel overnight.
Police tell NBC10 that a woman was taken from the Four Seasons Hotel on 18th and the Benjamin Franklin Parkway to a local hospital just before 4 a.m. The woman told police she was raped by someone inside the hotel, according to investigators.
They are questioning a man inside a Four Season’s hotel room regarding the incident. Police also say a Brooklyn Nets player was in the hotel suite at the time of the alleged incident but was not in the bedroom where it may have occurred. The Nets are scheduled to play the 76ers tonight at 7 p.m.
It was mentioned that investigators are still looking into this and are interviewing multiple witnesses.
As mentioned so far, the unnamed player was in the suite but was not in the bedroom where the incident allegedly happened. No charges have been made as of yet and there is no word saying whether or not the ball player will be held out of tonight’s game.
UPDATE: The unnamed player turned out to be Andray Blatche. He also tweeted about the incident.
As mentioned, he was just in the area when it happened. He hasn’t been charged with anything.
It’s good that he’s not involved in this as he has gotten in trouble before when he was charged for sexual solicitation. The charges were dropped after he followed court orders and attended day-long seminar for men who solicit prostitutes.
Hopefully, the case gets solved sooner than later.
