On Friday, Rudy Gay of the Toronto Raptors made a game-winner against the Indiana Pacers in overtime. Toronto Raptors fans were hoping to get more of that when the Raptors dealt for him about two weeks ago.
Well, they got more of that on Tuesday night’s game against the Denver Nuggets.
The Denver Nuggets were up, 108-107, with less than 20 seconds to go. The Raptors inbounded the ball and Kyle Lowry ran the clock down. With about 10 seconds left, Rudy Gay received the ball from Lowry. Corey Brewer picked him up. Then Gay quickly went to the right baseline and rose over Brewer for a jumpshot. The shot was good and it gave the Raptors a one-point lead with 4.8 seconds left. Ty Lawson’s ensuing runner was no good. The Raptors won their third straight game and the Nuggets lost their second straight (after winning nine straight games).
Toronto is now 4-2 ever since Rudy Gay started playing for them. Gay has made two game-winners for them in three games. It seems like Gay has found a home in Toronto after looking lost for much of the season in Memphis.
