Raiders Highlights: Derek Carr, Maxx Crosby Shine To Lead Team To Third Win In A Row

Not only did the Oakland Raiders notch their sixth win of the season in Week 11, but they won their third in a row with a 17-10 victory over the winless Cincinnati Bengals. The win moved Oakland to 6-4 as they continue to keep pace in the AFC playoff race.

The Raiders got off to an awfully slow start, punting it away and then turning it over on their first two possessions for the game. However, the Raiders defense proved to be their saving grace. Maxx Crosby had his fingerprints on the game early by sacking opposing quarterback Ryan Finely and forcing a fumble.

To get some offensive production, the Raiders turned to none other than Josh Jacobs. The rookie running back was able to tear up the Bengals defense on nearly every play, but it ended up being Derek Carr who took over in the second quarter.

Carr picked up 101 passing yards on the Raiders first scoring drive, including one beautiful pass between three defenders to Tyrell Williams. Eventually, Carr connected with Foster Moreau for 2-yard touchdown pass. Moreau had a quiet game, finishing with just two catches for eight yards while Williams finished with four catches for 82 yards.

On the Raiders’ next drive, it was Jacobs’ turn to take the Raiders down the field. He accounted for 32 of Oakland’s 80 yards on the drive, but once again it was Carr who would make the difference. On a scramble on third-and-goal, Carr decided to run it in for his first rushing touchdown of the season. Carr finished the half converting on 14-of-15 pass attempts and finished the game 25-of-29 for 292 passing yards, one passing touchdown, one rushing touchdown and one interception.

The Raiders defense gave Finley fits all day as their pass rush created a number of broken plays and the corners defended the long ball well. In the second half, Crosby continued to shine by adding in three more sacks. He seemed to have his way with the Bengals offense and helped secure the victory by sacking Finley with under two minutes left in the game.

On the very next play, the game was all but over after rookie cornerback Trayvon Mullen grabbed an interception. Crosby finished the game with his four sacks while Mullen added five solo tackles.

Jacobs continued his excellent play in the second half as well. He had one very impressive 21-yard run where he pushed through a number of defenders to get the extra yardage. He finished the game with 112 rushing yards on 23 carries, his fourth game with over 100 rushing yards, breaking Hall of Famer Marcus Allen’s Raider rookie record.
