Raiders Highlights: Josh Jacobs Shines, Defense Comes Up With Big Turnovers To Beat Bears In London

The Oakland Raiders have found themselves about .500 at 3-2 after a big Week 5 win over a tough Chicago Bears team in London on Sunday. The 24-21 victory marked their first time winning consecutive games since 2017.

The Raiders main formula for success was clear: give the ball to running back Josh Jacobs. The rookie had another monster game, rushing for 123 yards on 26 carries. Additionally, Jacobs converted on two touchdown rushes throughout the game, including the game-winning score after a 97-yard drive late in the fourth quarter.

Oakland’s second touchdown of the first half came at the end of an interception as linebacker Nicholas Morrow snagged a third-down pass from Bears quarterback Daniel Carlson at the start of the second quarter. Morrow returned the interception for 11 yards and ended up finishing the game with four solo tackles. Eventually, Deandre Washington punched it in on a 3-yard rush for his lone touchdown of the game.

Despite playing in across the pond in London, Derek Carr had yet another great game. Although he did not convert on any touchdown passes, he was able to move the ball effectively against a tough Bears defense.

Once again Carr’s favorite target was a tight end, but surprisingly not Darren Waller. Rookie Foster Moreau ended up leading the team in receiving yards with 46, including a 23-yard catch that was the longest throw on the day for Carr, who finished the game with 229 yards on 25 passes.

Moreau was one of nine total receivers throughout the game and one of only five with more than 20 receiving yards. For the second consecutive game, Keelan Doss got some playing time, finishing with two receptions for 11 yards.

After Jacobs capped off the 97-yard drive with the team’s final touchdown to regain the lead, the defense went to work to prevent the Bears from coming back. That effort saw immediate results as Gareon Conley intercepted a pass right after the Bears crossed the 50-yard line, securing the victory.
